Dr Wendy Keung 姜韻兒
Dr. Wendy Keung obtained her Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She subsequently received an MPhil and a Ph.D degree in Pharmacology at the University of Hong Kong. Upon obtaining her Ph.D, she went on to pursue postdoctoral training at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Canada where she studied energy metabolism of the heart during postnatal development as well as in disease states including diabetes and heart failure. During her postdoctoral training she was awarded a number of research fellowships including the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada/Astra Zeneca Research fellowship. She is currently Research Assistant Professor at the Dr. Li Dak-Sum Centre - The University of Hong Kong – Karolinska Institutet Collaboration in Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Keung's current research interests include understanding energy metabolism in human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. Another major focus of her research is driving maturation of stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes through metabolic treatment in both 2D and higher 3D engineered cardiac tissue constructs.
