AbstractOBJECTIVE: Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is a crucial enzyme in regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and heme degradation. Upregulation of HO-1 lowers blood pressure and improves endothelial function in spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHR).
