AbstractAntithrombin III was localized by specific immunofluorescent technique in four human tissues: lung, kidney, liver and spleen. Quantitation by radioimmunoassay revealed highest concentration in the lung. The importance of the strategic location of ATIII in the microvasculature of the lung and kidney and in the walls of the larger vessels may be for the maintenance of blood fluidity.
