AbstractThe transient photoluminescence properties of bipyrrole derivatives were investigated using a picosecond laser spectroscopy system. Bipyrrole derivatives were excited by picosecond pulses at 266 nm generated from a tripled mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser. Bipyrrole derivatives showed strong blue luminescence with a higher quantum efficiency and a shorter lifetime indicating that the polymers are also the potential candidates for developing fast response photo- or electro-luminescence devices.
