AbstractThis paper reports peer reviews by pre-intermediate level learners of Japanese on their expository writings. In this activity, the students were asked to choose the best writing from their peer groups and specify its good points. They considered paragraph structure, uses of conjunctions and readers’ perspective as the keys to determine “good” writing.
