AbstractOBJECTIVES: The surface charge of the titanium implant is believed to affect its osseointegration. Recently, it has been reported that the titanium surface charge can be modified through sandblasting, a commonly used titanium surface treatment technique. Previous experiments are limited to sandblasting using alumina oxide (Al2O3). This study aims at investigating the effects of several different blasting materials on the charge generation on the titanium surface.
