AbstractIt is not easy to make non-Chinese speaking students engage in Chinese language classroom. It is even more difficult to develop their higher level reading comprehension ability. This paper reports an action research which applied drama in education to teach non-Chinese speaking students higher level reading comprehension. Research findings indicate that students enjoyed and engaged the learning process. Through repeatedly reading the text, acting out the story, their higher level reading comprehension has been developed also.
