AbstractIn this paper, we propose a new method to schedule and evaluate the airport gate assignment. A mathematical model is built to show the relationship among three factors impacting on the gate assignment: robustness, tows, and passenger transfer distance. The stochastic uncertainty parameter is estimated by analyzing the historical data in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Finally, an Artificial Intelligence-based hybrid meta-heuristic is designed to solve this problem.
DescriptionThe papers from the technical and application streams of AI-2014 will be published by Springer as a single volume, entitled Research and Development in Intelligent Systems XXXI incorporating Applications and Innovations in Intelligent Systems XXII.
