AbstractThis paper reports on the analysis of 13 A-grade argumentative essays from two Science and Humanities courses. Patterns of Periodicity, Engagement and Attitude were analyzed to identify how a stance is expressed. This paper will exemplify how three voices are construed and discuss the implications for the teaching of EAP.
