AbstractTrisomy 8 and, less commonly tetrasomy 8, are karyotypic aberrations found in myeloid malignancies. We describe a unique case of acute myeloid leukemia with partial pentasomy 8 resulting from duplication of isochromosome 8q, and discuss its possible roles in leukemogenesis.
