AbstractSpinal cord monitoring techniques based on measuring somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) are presented. The principles and the experimental system for spinal cord monitoring are described in detail in the paper. The fast SEP measurement algorithm using pseudo-random sequence technique is also given. Experimental results show that our techniques can greatly improve the monitoring as compared to the traditional method, and further research in this connection is worth doing.
