Abstract | A high order mixed method (MM) for time integration in dynamic structural analysis is discussed. The method uses a combination of the weighted residual method and the collocation method. The dynamic response within a time interval is interpolated between the dynamic responses at the end points using a fifth order polynomial. The optimum selection of the working parameters is discussed, and the recommendations are given for the choice to ensure unconditional stability in computation. |
