Abstract | There have been concerns about the effects of PowerPoint on student learning. To unleash the power of PowerPoint, we have to capitalize on its versatility in presenting visuals and multi-media contents, which are important tools to facilitate student learning, especially in Economics. First, graphical analysis is central to the teaching of undergraduate Economics. PowerPoint allows us to present the analyses with several diagrams together and to zoom in on the analysis step-by-step. Second, we can help students visualize the complex relationships in Economic models by using diagrams. PowerPoint enables us to present the diagrams in a dynamic manner. Third, the use of multi-media can help arouse the students’ interest and sustain their attention. PowerPoint allows the incorporation of multi-media into the presentation with ease. |
