Abstract | This research examined the storage and interference control processes of verbal and visuospatial working memory in Chinese school-age children with and without ADHD. Two studies were conducted on both groups under 6 different conditions: two span tasks (1 verbal and 1 visuospatial) in isolation or with verbal or visuospatial interference task. The findings of the present research are the first reported evidence on the development of working memory processes in Chinese school-age children, suggesting the importance of baseline data of working memory. This research is also the first to reveal the developmental lag in interference processes of children with ADHD. |
