Objectives
1 To investigate how retrieval suppression of unwanted emotional memories influences explicit and implicit emotional memory processes. 2 To test whether the retrieval suppression of emotional memories can causally reduce real-life involuntary memory intrusions and to study the underlying neurocognitive mechanisms. 3 To investigate whether sleep can aid in retrieval suppression of emotional memories in reducing real-life involuntary memory intrusions.
