Objectives
1 The overall objective of the proposed study is to investigate the role of the recently discovered immune regulatory protein Δ42PD-1 in affecting human DC function during HIV-1 infection 2 Specific aim one: To determine the role of Δ42PD-1 in human DCs on regulating HIV-1 infection and transmission (year 1-1.5) 3 Specific aim two: To determine the role of Δ42PD-1 in regulating DC maturation and HIV-1 antigen presentation (year 1.5-3).
