Objectives
(1) To (a) assess the current dementia care, intervention, and support situation, as compared to the expectation and needs; (b) examine the cost of dementia with detailed analyses of unpaid caregiving and factors affecting cost estimation; and (c) develop models to simulate future demands for dementia care, treatment and support, to estimate the implications of demographic change and the potential impact, in terms of costs and outcomes, of implementing evidence-based care pathways in Hong Kong and other Chinese communities. (2) To build capacity in planning and implementing equitable and sustainable strategies in dementia care, and provide accessible tools, data, and local guidelines co-developed with stakeholders to support the generation of policy solutions for Hong Kong and other Chinese communities.
