Objectives
(1) To build up a platform for in vitro screening of metalloagents to restore antibiotics activity (2) To investigate the pharmacokinetics of lead bismuth compounds in different tissues and organs (3) To examine the efficacy of different bismuth compounds in the combination therapy for different types of models, e.g. urinary tract infection (UTI) and gastrointestinal infection (GI) (4) To provide an alternative strategy to tackle microbial infection and resistance prior to clinical trials (5) To educate junior scientists in translational research, and to stimulate markets for companies to invest in this field.
