1. Find out the characteristics of the people who fell into and moved out of poverty after the Government subsidy by a two-wave panel data 2. Identify potential mediating and/or moderating factors in relating to poverty transition 3. Examine the interaction effect between environmental and individual factors in relating to poverty transition 4. Determine effectiveness of some poverty alleviation programs, eg. the low income subsidy scheme
