Objectives
1. Establish and quantify the links between inclusive digital finance and financial technology (FinTech) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 2. Establish, using quantitative and qualitative methods, how the Alliance for Financial Inclusion’s (AFI) FinTech for Financial Inclusion Strategy (FinTech4FI, which was developed by Arner and collaborators Buckley and Zetzsche) can increase FinTech’s positive impacts on the UN SDG measures. 3. Test and confirm these statistical estimates (both the effect of FinTech on the SDGs and the AFI FinTech4FI strategy) with fieldwork, surveys and other quantitative methods; 4. Use those verified empirical estimates to propose the highest ‘sustainable FinTech’ impact legislation and regulation to improve SDG scores, particularly in developing countries. 5. Use those estimates to propose investment-related indices which will encourage inclusive FinTech investment, and thus sustainable development.
