Objectives
(1) Combine pangolin seizure data with genetic data from seizure samples to quantify trade pathways and identify key source and destination sites in the international trade of pangolin products. (2) Employ stable isotope analysis to pangolin samples to reveal the nutritional and welfare status of pangolins in the market. (3) Assess viral loads of wild pangolins and pangolins from the trade to determine possible pathways of viral transmission. (4) Analyze results from the genetics, stable isotope analysis, and viral sequencing all together to identify relationship between species, source, animal health and human health.
