Objectives
The project aims to improve the accuracy of nowcasting (0-2 hour) of heavy rainfall in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Research methods include: 1. Integrate the high-resolution heavy rainfall datasets for machine learning. Applying the mass meteorological data in the Greater Bay Area in the past ten years to achieve data fusion, thus providing a meteorological analysis field. 2. Develop advanced deep learning models based on artificial intelligence technology, high-resolution datasets and new types of radar detecting data. 3. Establish a demonstration platform for the artificial intelligence nowcasting of heavy rainfall in the Greater Bay Area. The project can provide more accurate nowcasting of heavy rainfall for the Greater Bay Area, so as to serve the social disaster prevention and mitigation more effectively.
