Objectives
 To address the pressing concerns of achieving sustainable transport as stated in the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development  To examine the decoupling status of two major negative externalities of transport – CO2 emission and traffic fatalities – across different nations over the past three decades  To apply an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) approach of Association Rule Minong and Sequential Rule Mining to identify effective policy measures, as well as their associated synergies, on transport decoupling  To quantify the actual impacts of policy measures and policy synergies on transport CO2 reduction and traffic fatality reduction using statistical models such as Structural Equation Models (SEM)  To evaluate necessary conditions and policy actions to achieve transport decoupling in the long-term using a backcasting approach
