Objectives
1. To identify the changing roles and characteristics of universities that were created in the aftermath of social upheavals and mass violence, i.e., post-conflict universities. 2. To investigate how these post-conflict universities have emerged as ""a sphere of influence and negotiation"" for different stakeholders such as politicians, businesspeople and educated masses to interact and negotiate for power and opportunities. 3. To develop a comparative and theoretical framework that can be used to understand the evolution, roles and characteristics of higher education in other post-conflict countries and societies that underwent major social and political transformation.
