Objectives
To test interactions between actin and actin-associated proteins by: a) localization of actin, profilin, and actin depolymerizing factor in fixed and living embryo sacs, b) localization of myosin in pollen and embryo sacs, c) examining filament polarity and dynamics of actin coronas. To perturb actin corona function by microinjecting profilin into unfertilized and fertilized embryo sacs. To examine the role of calcium in actin regulation during fertilization by tracing the changes of actin and calci um in living embryo sacs and synergids.
