Objectives
This project intends to use a recently developed method for presenting consensus sequences as the base to develop methods to align sequences to the consensus group. This will provide a means to create, verify and maintain collections of aligned sequencees. In particular the techniques to be developed here will be applied to the database of sequences of immunological interest to enhance the utility of this collection and to allow researchers to match their sequences to this database. Ways of quantify ing the levels of variability within a sequence set will also be examined. Software will be developed in a platform-independent manner to allow wider use of the results of this project.
