Objectives
To study neural spike activity in the mammalian midbrain using speech sounds as stimuli. The stimulus features of the speech sounds will be studied by comparing the response properties of the cells to frequency modulated tones in terms of basic characteristics of the sounds such as FM slope, depth, carrier frequency and sound intensity.
