Objectives
A 67 kdal antigen purified from T.spiralis by affinity chromatography using a phosphorylcholine-specific (T15) monoclonal antibody previously developed will be characterised by immunogenic studies in both immunodeficient (CBA/N) and normal (CFW) mice. The ability of this antigen to protect mice against challenge with Type I pneumococcus will be further investigated to determine its efficacy as a vaccine against the pneumococcus.
