Objectives
To establish a standard hand and wrist radiographic film of the 12-year-old Southern Chinese girls in Hong Kong; from which the characteristic features of each hand and wrist bone are studied; to construct a pattern of dental eruption and root development for the permanent teeth and to obtain norms for stature and body weight of the 12-year-old Southern Chinese girls in Hong Kong; to study the sexual maturation status with respect of menarche, first appearance of pubic and axillary hair, breast development of the 12-year-old Southern Chinese girls in Hong Kong; to investigate the relationship of skeletal age, dental development, stature and body weight, sexual maturity of the 12-year-old Southern Chinese girls in Hong Kong.
