To study the effects of glucocorticoid, oestrogen and thyroid hormone on the gene expression of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) and somatostatin (SRIF) in the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the rat hypothalamus using in-situ hybridization and selective PVN dissesection.
