Objectives
1. Scrutinizing the characteristics of the wind/current fields of specific sites (speeds, directions, and turbulence levels).2. Interpolating the large-scale observational data to refine the spatiotemporal resolution.3. Deploying the software sets SWAN, Delft3D and COAWST to compute wind-ocean current interaction, thus generating information for waves and currents to help in navigating wind surfing equipment.4. Employing concepts from artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML) to develop models for quick prediction before competitions.5. Performing wind measurements using atmospheric LIDAR (laser imaging, detection, and ranging) - in the laboratory, training ground in Hong Kong and finally event sites at the Asian and Olympiad Games.
