Objectives
We will combine traditional surveying methods with environmental DNA technique to survey reef fish communities and develop a new optimal method for a fast, more economical, and efficient method to monitor reef fish biodiversity.The project aims to determine the effectiveness of Hong Kong’s eastern marine protected areas, but applying this new method, by studying reef fish communities inside and at several distances outside the marine protected areas.
