(1) Investigate and study the critical requirements and challenging issues of distributed learning oncloud-edge settings and the existing learning solutions developed by academia and industry.(2) Develop and implement a framework with models, mechanisms, and algorithms for addressingedge learning issues.a) High-performance edge learning architecture for efficiently processing data over the cloud andmassive edge devices.b) Novel learning theory, techniques, and algorithms for accurately learning big data.c) Security guarantee methods for learning secure and reliable intelligent models and privacyprotection mechanisms for protecting data of users.(3) Develop a platform integrating edge learning framework, learning schemes, security and privacymechanisms to implement the proposed solutions.(4) Develop validation applications to experiment and evaluate the proposed framework, schemes,and platform.
