Objectives
- Evaluate the impacts of edge effects on insect communities using ants as bioindicators.- Understand the impacts and magnitude of edge effects on species richness, abundance and functionaldiversity of ants across four main types of edges.- Compare the effects of soft vs. hard edges on local communities using ants as bioindicators.- Measure the effect of edge effects on biological invasions within protected habitats.- Measure how edge effects spread climate change impacts through changes in temperature andhumidity along 150 m gradients from edge to forest interiors.
