Objectives
Objective 1 - Quantum upper limits to free-electron-light interaction under arbitrary bandwidths for predictingthe maximal generation rate of entangled multi-photon states from free electrons for quantum computation. Objective 2 - Realizing the slow-electron interaction advantage in radiation generation and reducing theemission velocity thresholds from designed photonic structures such as flatband photonic crystals, cathodeintegratedphotonic circuits, and metamaterials. Objective 3 - Quantum manipulation of nonrelativistic free electrons, including quantum recoil, photoninducednear-field electron microscopy, and spin-flipping with slow electrons, which could introduce syntheticgauge fields for free electrons on synthetic dimensions.
