Dr Choy graduated from the University of Hong Kong with MBBS degree in 2006 and subsequently underwent Ophthalmology training at United Christian Hospital (UCH). She was an honorary tutor of the Faculty when she was at UCH where she could contribute to the teaching of the medical students of her alma matar. She rejoined HKU family in July 2013 as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology to further her academic pursuit, where she can devote more time in researches. She had also received overseas training at Seoul National University Hospital. Since she joined the University, she has delivered more than 20 presentations in various regional and international conferences, including invited speeches. Apart from education to students and other healthcare professionals, she has also delivered various public talks and written newspaper articles to improve public awareness to common ocular diseases. Her research interest is in the field of Glaucoma and neuroprotection. She is actively involved in various clinical and animal studies to identify the mechanisms, novel investigations and treatments for glaucoma. Many of her studies are collaboration with other units, and she welcomes collaboration from different professionals
