Short Biography:
Dr. Chan’s primary research concerns the institutions that regulate information flow and consumption in different bureaucratic and regime settings. His current research tries to explore how bureaucrats handle information and to specify the impact of institutions on attention allocation.
Other projects deal with the nature of authoritarian politics in different ways, including how policy actors organize and participate in collaborative governance when political power is unevenly distributed and how rules of procedure can be designed to stabilize policy decisions while accommodating opposition participation.
He holds a PhD Degree in Public Policy from Indiana University, Bloomington.
