Professor Jang, Sung Tae 張成泰
Dr. Sung Tae Jang is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. His research suggests critical implications for policies and leadership for social justice, school finance, and school culture to create more just schools. As a critical quantitative researcher and social justice scholar, Dr. Jang’s research makes excluded groups in education policy more visible and answers the critical question of whose voices are still unheard. His work is published in American Education Research Journal, American Journal of Education, Educational Policy, and Education Policy Analysis Archives. His teaching focuses on preparing my students to be effective leaders, educators, and scholars who can contribute to the realization of educational equity and social justice.
Prior to completing his PhD in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Jang served for seven years as an elementary school teacher in South Korea. Dr. Jang was nationally selected as one of the Graduate Fellow and Policy Associates sponsored by the University Council for Educational Administration in the United States. He was also the 2018 AERA Research on the Education of Asian and Pacific Americans SIG Outstanding Dissertation Award winner.
