Short Biography:

Dr. Takemura Naomi is a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, The University of Hong Kong. She received her degrees of Bachelor of Nursing (1st Hons) in 2015 and PhD in 2022 from The University of Hong Kong. Dr. Takemura has worked as a clinical nurse for 3 years upon BNurs graduation, during which she gained invaluable clinical experience that inspired and strengthened her desire to start her research career.

Dr. Takemura’s research work is in the area of non-pharmacological and behavioral medicine interventions, with a special focus on patients with advanced cancer. She has accomplished a large-scale randomized controlled trial comparing the effectiveness of aerobic exercise and Tai Chi on improving multiple bio-physio-psychological outcomes in patients with advanced lung cancer, with research findings published in leading international journal, JAMA Oncology. In addition, her research includes end-of-life care capacity building and nurse education.

Dr. Takemura has published more than 25 articles in international peer-reviewed journals such as JAMA Oncology, Sleep Medicine Review, International Journal of Nursing Studies, and Nurse Education Today. She has served as an Editorial Board Member in BMC Nursing (Q1 journal in Nursing) upon PhD graduation.
