AbstractAB Cytokines are an extraordinarily diverse group of molecules that are released during infections, inflammatory, and malignant diseases. Cytokines possess pleiotropic effects, one of which is hormonal regulations. They exert autocrine, paracrine, and endocrine actions at multiple levels of the hypothalamic-pituitary-target gland axis. Although the exact role of the cytokines in the physiological interaction of hormonal secretion is still unclear, clinical endocrine dysfunction is observed with the therapeutic use of these cytokines.
