AbstractThe paper mainly describes an algorithm of implementing process migration in Linux environment based on a PCs network. The migrating process is divided to two contexts: the first, data of migrated process in a Host are fetched out and transferred across the network: the second, these data are received by a destination node and resumed to setup a process, which can start to run from its interrupted-point. The fetching and resumming data of a elected process both are concerned with the contents of task control structure, kernel stack, code segment, data segment and user stack of the process. These contents are placed in memory using page size and are administered in a vitural memory mode.
