AbstractA new potential analysis index, Pressure Differences Pascal Hours for natural ventilation (PDPH), was proposed and a new model of NVP in residential buildings was developed. With this model and the weather data of Typical Meteorological Year in Guangzhou city, the NVP of a residential building in this area was evaluated. The evaluating results showed that this model was practical, simple to use and could be used to assess the NVP for buildings under different meteorological parameters. This will be helpful for the choice of proper architectural design plans to achieve good natural ventilation.
