AbstractTwo patients with bronchobiliary fistula are reported. Each had a history of biliary disease with operations done prior to the onset of bilioptysis. Obstruction of the biliary tree by stones was the etiology in both cases. The diagnosis was made by detection of bile in the sputum. The definitive treatment consisted of removal of the obstructing stones and excision of the fistula. If emergency surgery is required because of sepsis, external drainage of the abscess and T-tube drainage should be performed first, followed by definitive procedure after recovery.
