Abstract | Cholecystohepaticodochal fistula is a rare complication of longstanding gallstone disease. It is important to recognize this condition pre-operatively because the biliary tree is highly vulnerable to damage if conventional cholecystectomy is attempted, but a hazardous operation can be avoided by adopting a different surgical approach. Using percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC), we were able to identify this condition in four patients and plan the operation accordingly. |
