AbstractThe Dolphina The terms and conditions of a charterparty may be incorporated into bills of lading issued under the charterparty. While general words of incorporation are not effective to incorporate an arbitration or jurisdiction clause at common law, 1 it is not entirely clear whether an applicable law clause can be incorporated by general words of incorporation.
