AbstractWe discuss whether kaon condensation occurs in neutron star matter by using the Zimanyi-Moszkowski model in the relativistic mean-field theory. As a comparison, we also discuss the results from the Boguta-Bodmer model. We show that even though hyperons which may increase the critical condensation density are not included, kaon condensation might not occur in stable neutron stars for the Zimanyi-Moszkowski model. © 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
