AbstractThe Gaussian random field Ising model with p-spin interactions in the presence of a transverse field is studied by combining the Suzuki-Trotter approach and the thermodynamic perturbation theory. The first-order phase transitions are found in the limit p → ∞, in contrast to the cases with p = 2. © Springer-Verlag 1996.
