AbstractThe selectivity and efficiency for the isolation of cellulolytic gliding bacteria were improved by eliminating soluble sugars from the usual cellulose agar medium in which the cellulolytic bacteria were often overgrown by fungi. The new selective medium did not support the growth of non-cellulolytic fungi.
