AbstractThe objects of this study were to simulate methanogenic conditions in the degradation of a synthetic MSW(SMSW) mixture using serum bottle techniques, and to measure the degradability of selected plastics during anaerobic fermentation. In addition, the developed technology described here for the study of anaerobic degradability of plastics during digestion of SMSW is meant to be useful as a reproducible procedure which may be considered by other researchers.
