AbstractOA is a growing trend in publishing that unlocks the doors to knowledge that was once hidden. For example OA publishing will allow you to access research even after you graduate and lose your access to HKU Library subscribed ejournals. When you publish in OA journals, it can increase your readership and impact. This seminar will explain reasons for OA, how it works, the benefits that accrue, the different types of OA such as Green and Gold, article processing charges and more.
